Il 2007 dello squash maschile di alto livello è andato in soffitta con due verdetti molto chiari: il primo è che Amr Shabana è il giocatore più forte del mondo: campione del mondo per la terza volta ha chiuso per la seconda volta consecutiva l'anno al numero 1 della classifica PSA, inoltre è stato capace, per la prima volta dal 2000, a vincere 4 tornei Super Series consecutivi. Il secondo verdetto è che Ramy Ashour è il futuro dello squash. Il giovane egiziano, campione del mondo junior, è salito in un balzo al numero 2 della classifica mondiale ed ha vinto nel 2007 4 tornei Super Series prima di infortunarsi e di non avere la possibilità di chiudere la stagione giocando.
I tornei Super Series di squash si dividono in ordine di importanza a seconda del montepremi messo in palio in SS Silver, SS Gold e SS Platinum. Poi ci sono il World Open e le Super Series Finals. In questa particolare statistica che comprende gli anni dal 2000 al 2007 sono stati disputati 63 tornei di queste categorie e il leader di vittorie (con 15) è l'inglese Peter Nicol.
